Job Title: Staff or Senior Accountant

Job Type: Part-Time Contract - Temporary

Job Location: Elmwood, LA

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Staff or Senior Accountant to join our finance team while one of our members is on maternity leave. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the financial activities of our organization, including preparing financial reports, conducting financial analysis, and ensuring compliance with accounting principles and standards.

Key Responsibilities:

- Prepare and analyze financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements
- Oversee the month-end close process and ensure timely and accurate financial reporting
- Manage the general ledger and ensure accuracy and completeness of financial records
- Review and approve journal entries, reconciliations, and other financial transactions
- Analyze financial data and provide insights to management to support business decisions
- Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and financial forecasts
- Ensure compliance with accounting principles, standards, and regulations
- Provide support for external accountants

Requirements:

- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
- CPA certification preferred
- 4+ years of relevant accounting experience
- Strong knowledge of US GAAP and accounting principles
- Experience with accounting software and ERP systems
- Excellent analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Attention to detail and high level of accuracy
- Strong organizational and time management skills
