Job Description

Job Title: Medical Records and Billing Specialist
Location: Remote (LATAM preferred)
Salary Range: $1,200 - $1,500 USD per month
Job Type: Full-time

Job Description:

The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing medical records, handling billing, and ensuring accurate documentation. This position requires strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and a good understanding of medical terminology and billing processes.

Key Responsibilities:

- Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records for patients in compliance with healthcare regulations.
- Handle the billing process, including coding procedures, verifying insurance, and preparing invoices for patients and insurance companies.
- Submit and follow up on insurance claims to ensure timely payment and resolve any issues related to claim denials.
- Oversee patient accounts, process payments, and manage any outstanding balances.
- Ensure all medical documentation and billing practices comply with regulatory and legal requirements.
- Act as a liaison between medical staff, insurance providers, and patients to resolve billing issues and clarify information.
- Enter and update patient and billing information into the system accurately and promptly.

Qualifications:

- Minimum of 2 years of experience in medical billing, coding, or medical records management.
- Proficiency with medical billing software and electronic health record (EHR) systems.
- Strong focus on accuracy in managing medical records and billing information.
- Knowledge of HIPAA and other relevant regulations related to medical records and billing.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Ability to handle billing discrepancies, claim denials, and patient inquiries with professionalism and efficiency.

Preferred Qualifications:

- Medical Billing or Coding certification is a plus but not required.
- Previous experience working with the U.S. healthcare billing process is highly preferred.
- Fluency in both English and Spanish is an advantage but not required.
