As a Life Sciences Sales Representative at STERIS, you will drive revenue for Contamination Control Products to the Life Sciences industry. This includes Pharmaceutical, Biotechnology, Medical Device, and Research Industries within the assigned sales territory. You will visit Customer sites, attend trade shows, and stay current in the industry through networking, meetings, and reading related industry information. You will be responsible for providing high Customer satisfaction, establishing multi-level relationships with Customers, and utilizing company provided sales resources. You are tasked with maximizing sales outcomes while providing best solutions to the Customer.

This is a remote based Customer facing position. To support and service our Customers in this assigned territory candidates must be based out of one of the following states: California

What Will You Do As a Sales Representative

  • Present, promote, and sell STERIS Life Science Consumable products to existing and prospective customers.
  • Establish, develop, and maintain positive business and Customer relationships.
  • Generate leads and qualify prospects.
  • Expedite the resolution of Customer problems and complaints to maximize Customer satisfaction.
  • Achieve sales targets and results within targeted time frame.
  • Coordinate sales effort with team members to advance business growth.
  • Analyze the territory/market potential and evaluate sales reports on a routine basis.
  • Update and maintain sales tools regarding territory business and competitive activities as well as potential for new products.
  • Keep informed of best practices and industry trends including participation trade shows.
  • Negotiate to achieve agreements that provide a mutually acceptable solution to STERIS and the Customer.

Required

The Experience, Skills, and Abilities Needed:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 3 years of sales or Life Sciences industry work experience
  • Ability to travel up to 35-40%
  • Must be able to be compliant with hospital/customer credentialing requirements.

Preferred

  • Experience in validation, quality, technical services, or pharmaceutical manufacturing
  • Experience with technical products/services
  • Experience in consultative selling
  • General knowledge of the Pharmaceutical Manufacturing, Biotechnology Manufacturing, and Medical Device industries

Pay range for this opportunity is $90,000-95,000. This position is also eligible for commission.

Minimum pay rates offered will comply with county/city minimums, if higher than range listed. Pay rates are based on a number of factors, including but not limited to local labor market costs, years of relevant experience, education, professional certifications, foreign language fluency, etc.

Employees (and their families) may enroll in our company-sponsored medical, dental, vision, flexible spending, health savings account, voluntary benefits, supplemental life/AD&D plans and the company’s 401k plan. Employees are covered by an employee assistance program (also available to household members) and long-term disability. Full-Time Employees are also eligible for short-term disability. Full-time Employees will also receive Paid Time Off (PTO) based on years of service and paid Holidays. Part-time employees working 20 or more hours receive a pro-ration of the full-time PTO allocation and paid Holidays based on their standard hourly work week. Full-Time employees are eligible for four weeks of paid parental leave. Part-time employees also receive paid parental leave, pro-rated based on their standard hourly work week.
